i just started taking a black and white photography class. i developed my first roll of film on monday. its cool. i hope i come out with some good prints when its over.

peacock feathers

I've noticed that peacock feather patterns are becoming a trend in fashion and in design. These are a few things I found today that I think are interesting.

The 1st one is a Thomas Paul rug, then an awesome ring from Charlotte Russe, the bag and umbrella are from Forever21, and the last one is a rug from Horchow. I think I'm going to buy the forever21 bag :)

i was looking around on the pier one site and i saw this piece of furniture. i like all the details on it and how it's painted. it's not something i would expect to find at pier one because it's shabby chic. when i think of pier one i think of colorful more ethnic inspired things. i wish the pictures could be enlarged on their site so you could see things more closely.

i was looking on the IKEA website and saw this tiled wall in a kitchen picture. its so interesting with all the different tiles used and it's not distracting or busy because its monochromatic.

shower curtains

I have been trying to find a shower curtain for my bathroom. I want it to have a blue and tan color scheme. i got a striped rug with those colors, and then i wanted to find a damask print shower curtain and possibly one that is sheer. I found this one but i think the blue is too vibrant for what i want, and i also really want one that is fabric, not vinyl.

I like this one from target because it has brown and blue in it and i like the little birds, but i'm not sure if it will be too busy.

i've been on a search for a duvet cover. i saw this one from west elm. i love the pattern/texture the gathering creates. i wish it came in other colors.

i was looking on the site myhomeideas.com and saw this room. i used to have a room painted this color, but i like the use of it in this room much better and how it's mixed with the brown fabrics. i really love the ottoman and that it's used in place of a coffee table. i've seen that done before and i think its great because i always put my feet on the edge of the coffee table and its uncomfortable, but i also like the look of it in a room.

these lights are intersting how they cast circles of light like that. i can't figure out how but i love how they're used here. it is a photo from flickr of a place in budapest.

i love to pick lilacs and bring them inside. they smell so nice and remind me of the beginning of summer. i like this bouquet, i never really thought to mix the lilacs with other flowers but this is a nice combo.
